Sergio Chamone representing Team Finland during the launch of Novo PAC

Today, President-elect Lula da Silva announced a USD 350 billion ‘growth acceleration’ plan (known as PAC). FinnCham Brazil’s CEO, Honorary Consul Sergio Chamone, represented the Team Finland network in the event, which brought together important authorities in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

The president defended the measures foreseen in the program to avoid ecological degradation, and said that “there is no way to think of any form of economic growth, of wealth generation, that is not green and sustainable”. He also said that “we do not want a business State. We want an inductor State. A State capable of promoting debate and saying where things should be done (…) neither the State knows anything, nor the private sector knows everything”.
