In <\/span>March<\/span>, <\/span>various<\/span> Finnish<\/span> companies<\/span> became<\/span> members<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> Rio de Janeiro Naval Technology Cluster including our Chamber of Commerce Finland-Brazil. <\/span>According<\/span> to<\/span> FinnCham<\/span> Brazil’s<\/span> CEO, <\/span>Honorary<\/span> Consul Sergio Chamone, <\/span>Brazil<\/span> and<\/span> Finland<\/span> have<\/span> had<\/span> a <\/span>strong<\/span> collaboration<\/span> in <\/span>the<\/span> naval <\/span>industry<\/span> over <\/span>the<\/span> last<\/span> years<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During<\/span> that<\/span> month<\/span>, Consul Kari <\/span>Puurunen<\/span> and<\/span> FinnCham<\/span> Brazil’s<\/span> CEO, <\/span>Honorary<\/span> Consul Sergio Chamone, <\/span>met<\/span> with<\/span> the<\/span> Rio de Janeiro Naval Technology Cluster <\/span>and<\/span> EMGEPRON, a <\/span>state-owned<\/span> enterprise<\/span> under<\/span> Brazil’s<\/span> MoD.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>main<\/span>\u00a0topic<\/span>\u00a0on<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0agenda\u00a0<\/span>was<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0naval\u00a0<\/span>shipbuilding<\/span>\u00a0industry<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Also<\/span>,\u00a0Sergio<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>has<\/span> been<\/span> awarded<\/span> a diploma (Friend <\/span>of<\/span> the<\/span> Monte <\/span>Bastione<\/span> Group<\/span>) <\/span>by<\/span> the<\/span> Commander<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> Brazilian<\/span> Army’s<\/span> 21st <\/span>Artillery<\/span> Group<\/span>, <\/span>also<\/span> known<\/span> as Monte <\/span>Bastione<\/span> Group<\/span>, <\/span>which<\/span> recognizes<\/span> his<\/span> contributions<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> organization<\/span>. The <\/span>event<\/span> was<\/span> held<\/span> in <\/span>Niteroi<\/span> (RJ).<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year, Sergio Chamone<\/a> was even awarded an important decoration, the Friend of Navy Medal. Created in August 1966, it recognizes those who have contributed to the Brazilian Navy’s mission. Mr. Chamone was joined by Ambassador Johanna Karanko<\/a><\/p>\n
